Jason Aldean’s inspiration for his daughter Navy Rome’s name didn’t come from his childhood.
“Roman was one of the names [wife Brittany Aldean] liked for Memphis and I wasn’t into it. And so she had the name Navy for this go around and I thought that was cool,” Aldean said on SiriusXM’s “CMA Awards Radio.”
The country singer explained that he compromised with Rome after Brittany changed her name a bit, saying, “I can remember that!”
“Growing up, my name was very common,” he added. “There are always five Jasons in my class, which I think is annoying…so I just want them to have names that aren’t too weird, they’re just different enough.”.
