In Episode 1 of The Boys Season 4, it is revealed that Firecracker is creating YouTube videos and spreading rumors about Starlight, nicknamed Annie. The reason for her rage against Annie is undisclosed until Episode 3. In this episode, Annie sneaks inside Vought’s chamber inside Firecracker’s room to confront her, desperate to learn more about her motivations.

During the confrontation, Firecracker (Valorie Curry) confesses that she knows Annie extremely well, which confuses her. Firecracker then reminds her of her high school nickname, Sparkler.
