Joshua’s Hidden Vulnerability Revealed: Will Dubois Exploit It at Wembley?

Former world champion sees one memory moment that could be AJ’s weakness.

Anthony Joshua has a “chink in his armour” that could prevent him from “ruining Daniel Dubois’ dream.”

That’s the assessment of Ireland’s former world champion Barry McGuigan, as the two British heavyweights prepare to face off at Wembley Stadium in September.

Ex-world champ Anthony Joshua knows victory can set up a title shot

Daniel Dubois says he will ‘demolish’ Joshua in the all-British showdown.

After losing twice against Oleksandr Usyk, AJ has won four consecutive matches and aspires to return to the top of the world rankings.

Joshua, 34, is now the IBF’s top challenger because to his spectacular comeback triumphs.

After agreeing to a rematch with Tyson Fury, Usyk may relinquish the organization’s world title belt.

So AJ might be one win away from a shot at the IBF title.

But Joshua was in Saudi Arabia earlier this month to see 26-year-old Dubois break Filip Hrgovic’s unbeaten streak and win the interim IBF title.

And McGuigan, 63, head of the Professional Boxing Association, has revealed what he believes is AJ’s major vulnerability.

In fact, he believes Joshua’s superior all-around ability may not be enough to win – if Dubois can reveal that one potential weakness.

McGuigan told Seconds Out: “If he gets through to Joshua’s chin, it’s game on.”

Barry McGuigan says AJ has the edge unless Dubois gets to his chin.

“Joshua is the more complete fighter, marginally quicker. And he has rebuilt impressively since he lost for the second time to Usyk.

“Most would still take Joshua to win. But nothing is a given if Dubois can back up his Hrgovic victory with another mature performance.”

However, former world king Joshua maintains his view.

On Instagram, he warned Dubois: “The hardest part about my job is realising you have to ruin someone else’s dream to achieve yours.”

The younger man predicted: “I’ll demolish Joshua.” “I’ll get better from here.”

The fight could be confirmed on September 21 this year.
