‘I Know What Happens’: The Boys Creator Eric Kripke Confirms He Has the Right Ending in Mind.

The Boys is one of Prime Video’s most popular shows, and the program has a promising future on the platform, with two spin-offs already available and more to follow. However, the series’ creator, Eric Kripke, already knows how the main show will conclude.

The highly awaited fourth season of the satirical superhero show The Boys will premiere, bringing back Homelander, Billy Butcher, and other fan favorites, as well as some new faces. Prime Video has already renewed the series for Season 5, although there is no definite ending. However, Kripke has told Empire that he knows exactly how the show will finish.

Kripke pointed out that he does know how the series will end, although he doesn’t know when. With so many twists and turns, shocking moments, and downright gore elements, the show won’t go forever. “You can’t build a show that’s about these two forces of Homelander and Butcher slowly closing in on each other without bringing that to a head,” he explained. “Whenever that last episode occurs, I know what happens.” That still doesn’t tease an ending, and Season 5 is already a guarantee. “I’m very aware of the ironic position this puts us in,” Kripke continued. “I think about it every day, how important it is: even if we’re telling more stories in this world, that we don’t fucking sell out.”

Eric Kripke recently clarified his comments about when The Boys will end, explaining that he is no longer trying to predict when the show will end. The showrunner has previously failed to predict the seasons with his hit fantasy series Supernatural, which was originally intended to air for five seasons. Instead, the series ran for 15 seasons. “I have learned since then to not try to call the seasons as the person who, and this is without hyperbole, is literally the most wrong in entertainment history of how many seasons their show should go,” Kripke explained. “Someone pointed that out to me and I was like, ‘You’re right. That’s ridiculous. I need to keep my mouth shut.’ And so I will.

Eric Kripke Teases The Boys Season 4 Starting Point

The Boys Season 4 will begin with Victoria Neuman’s election. Furthermore, the series will attempt to reflect the impending elections in the United States. The showrunner elaborated: “I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that it opens on election night,” Kripke explains, given the show focuses on politics.

“Victoria Neuman, a hidden homicidal supe, is now Vice President-Elect. In a couple of months, she’ll be confirmed and inaugurated — and then she’ll be a heartbeat away from the presidency, in a Faustian bargain with Homelander,” the showrunner continues. “So that’s a really good ticking clock — and [it gives us the opportunity] to talk stolen elections and using social media to spew disinformation, and trials, and social unrest, and how people in power actually instigate social unrest because it’s a political benefit to them.”

The Boys Season 4 premieres on Prime Video on June 13.
