Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have worked hard to become financially independent ever since they stepped down from the Royal Family and gained some very famous pals
Meghan Markle “cannot see any problem with being super rich and mixing with celebrities”, according to one royal expert who said the former actress is “driven by money”.
The Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 and her husband Prince Harry announced they would become financially independent when they stepped down from the Royal Family. In the years since they’ve signed some exclusive deals with the likes of Netflix and Penguin Random House to grow their wealth.
Despite the lucrative partnerships, royal author Tom Quinn has suggested Meghan worries they never have “enough”. He also claims it seems hypocritical of the former Suits star to have so much wealth while working with “the marginalised”.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Tom said: “She cannot see any problem with being super rich and mixing with celebrities while telling people her real focus is the poor and the marginalised. One former friend of the couple insists Meghan wants to be both Marie Antoinette and Mother Teresa of Calcutta!
“A big problem for Meghan is that she often seems almost obsessively driven by money. Despite the couple’s enormous wealth, Meghan never thinks it’s enough because she is living next door to celebrities who are far richer.”
Meghan and Harry moved to Montecito, California, after stepping down from the Royal Family. Their nine-bedroom mansion cost $14.6million (£11.8million) and they did “everything they could” to buy it.
They also spend a lot of money on security for themselves and their two children – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. It’s been reported that the bill for security is $2million (£1.5million).

As well as security, the Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es pay for their own private travel. Meghan also likes to splash the cash on designer fashions and has some high-end pieces in her wardrobe.
When the couple recently travelled to Nigeria, Meghan made a number of outfit changes and ended up spending almost £120,000 on jewellery and new clothes. The move was criticised by some given the extreme levels of poverty in Nigeria.
