In a vicious jab at NBA opponent, Anthony Edwards says he had Jamal Murray “in handcuffs” during the Timberwolves’ victory over the Nuggets.

Following the Timberwolves’ NBA Playoff victory over the Nuggets, Anthony Edwards unleashed a vicious tirade on Jamal Murray, claiming to have the Denver star “in handcuffs” during the game on Sunday.

In Game 7 of their Western Conference Semifinal against Denver, Minnesota pulled off an incredible comeback, overturning a 15-point halftime deficit and a 20-point deficit in the second half to win 98-90 and eliminate the defending champs.

Edwards’ 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in the second half helped the Timberwolves pull off the biggest comeback in the history of Game 7 of an NBA playoff series, setting up a Finals matchup with the Dallas Mavericks.

Despite Denver’s lackluster performance, Edwards’ victory was made much more sweeter because he prevailed against his hated rival Murray, who finished with a game-high 35 points.

Edwards was heard saying that he had Murray ‘in handcuffs’ following Sunday night’s game

The Timberwolves star revealed that Murray was ‘talking s**t’ following their playoff defeat to the Nuggets last year, meaning he couldn’t resist mocking him after avenging it on Sunday.

As he made his way back to the locker room at Ball Arena, Edwards was heard saying after responding to a joke about handcuffs: ‘I had Jamal in handcuffs!’

According to the Minnesota shooting guard, Murray taunted the Timberwolves in a Denver cocktail lounge after navigating past them in the first round of last season’s playoffs.

‘He was talking s**t,’ Edwards told ESPN about the infamous encounter on Sunday. ‘He was telling Mike [Conley], “I’m sick of you, you can’t guard me,” and all that.

‘I told him, “We’ll be back. You’ll see us again when we’re fully loaded.”‘

Edwards also appeared to clash with Nikola Jokic towards the end of the Timberwolves’ remarkable comeback win.

Murray and Edwards don’t get along following a contentious meeting in Denver last year.

Jokic seemed displeased with Edwards when the Timberwolves player teased Nuggets supporters by waving farewell as the final 30 seconds approached.

Jokic ran into Edwards as Minnesota got ready to attempt a free shot; what Jokic said to Edwards was not evident on the broadcast.

Karl-Anthony Towns and Jaden McDaniels both scored 23 points to help the Wolves advance to the Western Conference finals for the first time in precisely 20 years.
