Meghan Markle ‘obsessed with quiet, very private birthdays for her children’

Meghan Markle celebrated Prince Archie ‘s birthday on Tuesday.

It comes as Prince Harry returned to the UK on Tuesday for an Invictus Games event, while Meghan Markle stayed in California with their children Archie and Lilibet to support from afar. Harry is to attend a service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, a groundbreaking sports competition for ex-service people that Harry founded back in 2014.

Harry celebrated Archie’s birthday on Monday before heading to the UK and according to Royal author and expert, Tom Quinn, Meghan celebrated “with quiet” and in “private.”

Tom told The Mirror : “When it comes to her children’s birthdays, Meghan is almost obsessed with the idea that they should be quiet, very private affairs, with simple games, a birthday cake and ice cream. Archie is a real live-wire who loves rushing around at top speed so there will also be blind man’s bluff and tag among other games.

He continued: “Meghan combines a deep sense of her own global importance in the wider world with a desire to make her children experience what she sees as the more ordinary things in life.”

Because Meghan and Prince Harry moved to the United States after stepping down from their royal duties in 2020, Archie has not been able to celebrate with the Royal Family. Tom said that he will be surrounded by his friends from school, Meghan mother Doria Ragland, and “one or two celebrities” with children the same age and live around them, like Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and their daughter Daisy.

The Royal Family seemed to have a “huge sigh of relief ” when Meghan did not plan to travel to the UK with Harry. It seems like the Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 is very much against the idea of her son making a trip to the UK any time soon, even though King Charles III is “desperate” to have a relationship with this two grandchildren, according to Tom.

Tom also said that the monarch “dislikes new technology ” and is “uncomfortable” with the idea of making a video call using apps likes of FaceTime, WhatsApp and others to stay in touch. The King prefers a traditional phone call. Tom claimed that the monarch suggested he would give Archie a playhouse as a gift for his birthday after the King gave Prince William’s son, Prince George, a similar hut.

“Charles also suggested that he give Archie a playhouse – not a plastic child’s playhouse, but a superb hand-made shepherd’s hut, complete with bunks and bookshelves. Charles hates the idea that Harry might think he favours one grandchild over another and he has already given Prince George a similar hut which reputedly cost a cool £18,000,” Quinn added.
