On March 19, 2025, notorious reporter Lee Jin Ho released a video about the late actress Kim Sae Ron. The video claimed that she had already been married by the time she decided to take her own life. In January 2025, she had posted a series of photos with a mystery man that were deleted at the speed of light. She captioned it “Marry.” Her representatives then had claimed they were simply wedding photoshoot-like photos she had taken with a close friend.

In the video released by Lee Jin Ho, he had further gotten a hold of voice recordings between Kim Sae Ron and a previous agency staff member about the photos. Kim Sae Ron had allegedly claimed that the photos were uploaded by her boyfriend after a fight.

Staff: “What’s up with these photos?”

Kim Sae Ron: “I didn’t upload them. My boyfriend did.”

Staff: “Isn’t he crazy? Sigh.”

Kim Sae Ron: “What?”

Staff: “He’s crazy.”

Kim Sae Ron: “I know…”

Staff: “Reporters keep calling about it. I’m telling them it isn’t true, but you need to tell me what’s going on accurately. Okay?”

Kim Sae Ron: “Okay.”

Staff: “He’s going to upload it again, won’t he? When will you be back? The 10th?”

Kim Sae Ron: “I’ll be flying back on the 13th, so I’ll reach [Korea] on the 14th.”

Staff: “Just where are you now?”

Kim Sae Ron: “My boyfriend lives in New York.”

Later on, the staff pressed about their status of marriage.

Staff: “Reporters are asking if he’s your boyfriend, if you guys are married. I’ve been telling them he’s not.”

Kim Sae Ron: “Okay.”

Staff: “It’s not the guy you met up with and had a meal with during Christmas?”

Kim Sae Ron: “Yeah.”

Staff: “And as for socia-, can you take a call right now?”

Kim Sae Ron: “Yes.”

Staff: “It’s normal for kids to date and break up, but if you’re telling me he’s not the guy you saw during Christmas, how can you upload a photo with him saying you’re going to marry him? To me it looks like a photoshoot anyway, a conceptual photoshoot.”

Kim Sae Ron: “Yes.”

Staff: “So right now I’m trying to be evasive [to the reporters] about it.”

Kim Sae Ron allegedly confirmed that they did get married overseas.

Staff: “Did you perhaps already have the ceremony?”

Kim Sae Ron: “Yes, we already did it.”

Staff: “In Korea?”

Kim Sae Ron: “Overseas.”

When asked about her ex-boyfriend, Kim Sae Ron admitted that she had met up with him while she was in Korea due to some issues with her company. She claimed that she was not going to marry her current boyfriend, but was threatened into doing so. She also allegedly had an abortion.

Staff: “What happened with your ex?”

Kim Sae Ron: “While I was dating my current boyfriend, I happened to meet up with my ex while I was in Korea. There’s problems to do with the company and B, so he said that he would just help me out with the issues even though we were broken up. So when we met up then, we were already broken up. I told everything to my ex, and that I had a boyfriend, and we said goodbye like that. I was also not going to marry my current boyfriend, and was actually about to break up with him. But then, I suddenly got pregnant.”

Staff: “Are you pregnant right now?”

Kim Sae Ron: “No, I got an abortion. But because of that, we ended up getting married.”

Staff: “You got married because you got pregnant, but you said that you aborted it?”

Kim Sae Ron: “He kept subtly threatening me about it. He’s kinda insane.”

Staff: “How did you end up meeting him?”

Kim Sae Ron: “He’s just a normal person who works at a conglomerate in New York. We met through acquaintances. As time went by, although he’s normal regularly, when he gets insecure occasionally, as we are apart (long distance) – I even deleted my KakaoTalk, right? My boyfriend has access to my KakaoTalk and my Instagram. So he manages everything. And I was unable to use anything, and now I’m able to use normal messages and Telegram a little, but he told me he didn’t know why I kept hiding the fact that I was married. He wanted to make it public. So we ended up fighting and he uploaded the post. I told him to delete it just now, so he did. Anyway, that’s my situation.”

Staff: “God… You can’t back out of the marriage even.”

Kim Sae Ron: “Yeah, I can’t. Anyway, I changed my Instagram and deleted my KakaoTalk. Sigh. When he drinks, he suddenly gets insane.”

Staff: “Why do you have so many people like that around you?”

Kim Sae Ron: “I didn’t think I would marry someone like him either.”

Staff: “Your parents know about him too, you said?”

Kim Sae Ron: “Yes, but I swear he’s normal but he gets a little like that when he drinks.”
