Russell Wilson’s wife, Ciara, got candid about her nearly nine-year marriage with the Pittsburgh Steelers star and how they kept the fire burning throughout the years.
The 39-year-old singer has supported her husband on the sidelines, demonstrating her dedication to him despite her busy career and life as a mom.
In an interview with Bustle, the Grammy winner shared that it’s all about the effort to keep the “spark” and attraction alive.
“You need to still turn up the 𝓈ℯ𝓍y,” she said, adding, “He walks through the door, and I’m like, ‘OK!’ Because he intentionally went in to get 𝓈ℯ𝓍ier, to get cute. For me, the same thing. It’s about making that effort for each other, keeping the spark and excitement alive.”
Although the “Goodies” hitmaker said that having four kids and doing everything else is “a lot,” she emphasized the value of making a conscious choice to prioritize herself, because that is when she feels good.
“He sees it,” the award-winning singer said, highlighting the effort she puts into keeping their connection strong.
Besides feeling and looking good, the wife of the Steelers quarterback also mentioned the importance of date nights in their relationship. She shared that it’s something she always looks forward to.
“Just being with him, talking about life, looking into each other’s eyes, holding each other’s hands, doing all those things that you do in the beginning,” she added.
Russell Wilson and Ciara met in 2015 at a basketball game in Wisconsin, according to PEOPLE.
A year later, the couple tied the knot in a secluded ceremony in Cheshire, England.
Together, they have four children: daughter Sienna Princess, son Win Harrison, daughter Amora Princess and Future Zahir Wilburn, who is Ciara’s son from her previous relationship with rapper Future.
