Ryan Reynolds suggests his thoughts in first post following his wife Blake Lively’s complaint against Justin Baldoni.

Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni alleging 𝓈ℯ𝓍ual harassment, followed by a retaliatory public smear campaign to “destroy” her reputation

Ryan Reynolds is sharing a glimpse into his mindset amid his wife Blake Lively’s legal battle against Justin Baldoni.

In his first social media post since the news broke that Lively filed a complaint against her It Ends With Us director and costar, the Deadpool star, 48, shared a message encouraging fans to donate to the SickKids Foundation and hinted at his feelings amid the recent media storm surrounding his family heading into the holidays.

“It’s almost Christmas Eve. Last day to donate to [SickKids Foundation],” Reynolds wrote on Monday, Dec. 23, resharing a video promoting donations to the organization starring him and one of his daughters Inez, 8, dressed up as Deadpool and Kidpool. Reynolds is also dad to daughters James, 10, and Betty, 5, plus son Olin, 1, with Lively.

“Thank you [Bryan Rowland] for directing this amazing little piece during a time I really didn’t feel like putting the suit on,” he continued. “Thank you [Lynda Carter] for your time, grace and talent. Thank you to my daughter for being such a good person despite your dad asking you to swear (for a good cause).”

Reynolds also noted in his message that he and Lively would match “any donation to $500k” and emphasized the organization’s importance in providing a “sanctuary for so many kids and their parents traversing the unimaginable.”

A source told PEOPLE earlier this week that Reynolds was supporting his wife after she filed her complaint against Baldoni alleging 𝓈ℯ𝓍ual harassment and a retaliatory public smear campaign to “destroy” her reputation.

“Ryan is always her rock. They have such a special relationship. He’s very proud of her in so many ways,” the insider told PEOPLE.

In Lively’s complaint against Baldoni — who starred and directed It Ends With Us — she alleges that Baldoni engaged in misconduct during the production of the film including showing her explicit images and videos and asking her about her personal 𝓈ℯ𝓍 life.

The legal filing, which is a precursor to filing a discrimination lawsuit in California, states there was a meeting attended by various producers, along with Reynolds held to address Baldoni’s alleged actions and “the hostile work environment that had nearly derailed production.” The complaint also claims that Baldoni engaged in a retaliatory public smear campaign after the film, which was created to “destroy” her reputation.

Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, responded to the allegations in a statement to PEOPLE on Saturday, Dec. 21, saying that the A Simple Favor actress’s complaint was issued to “fix her negative reputation.”

He added that her allegations are “false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt,” and claimed that the actress caused issues during the filming of the movie, including “threatening to not show up to set, threatening to not promote the film, ultimately leading to its demise during release.”

Several prominent individuals have come out in support of Lively amid the filing against Baldoni, including It Ends With Us novel author Colleen Hoover, as well as costars Jenny Slate and Brandon Sklenar. Lively’s A Simple Favor director Paul Feig also spoke out, as did her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants costars America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn. Other stars voicing their support of Lively include Michele Morrone, Amy Schumer, Amber Heard, Lively’s older sister Robyn Lively and Robyn’s husband Bart Johnson.
