John Krasinski looked a little glum while stepping out with a friend in Brooklyn after facing intense trolling online after earning the title of People’s Sexiest Man Alive.

 

After dividing the internet with his win, the 45-year-old actor, best known for his role as Jim Halpert on NBC’s The Office, was seen grabbing a cup of coffee on Thursday morning.

 

Despite celebrating the honor by partying with past winners Ben Affleck and Matt Damon earlier this week, the father-of-two attempted to keep a low profile on his latest outing while rocking a black jacket, jeans and a Boston Red Sox cap.

 

In addition to a pair of glasses tucked into his shirt, the A Quiet Place director appeared to be wearing two beaded friendship bracelets.

 

The bracelets were most likely made by his daughters, Hazel, 10, and Violet, 8, or one of the ones gifted to him by fans at Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour in London in August.

 

 

Krasinski has been married to British actress Emily Blunt have been married for 14 years.

 

While discussing her reaction to his shock People’s Sexiest Man Alive triumph,  Krasinski gushed to People that ‘there was a lot of joy involved in’ him telling her.

 

Although he was shocked and confused about the title, he revealed his wife, 41, was over the moon to have a husband branded the 𝓈ℯ𝓍iest man alive.

 

Krasinski admitted Blunt was ‘very excited’ upon telling her and even joked she would wallpaper their house with his cover.

 

He also gushed about his wife, saying: ‘It’s that beautiful thing where when you’re married to someone, you’re constantly learning and changing and evolving.

 

‘And I’m so lucky to go through all that with her.’

 

The actor went on to joke that his new title won’t help him at home, and will make him do ‘more household chores’:

 

‘She’ll be like, “All right, that means you’re going to really earn it here at home.”‘

 

 

In his cover story for People, Krasinski shared his surprise at earning the title: ‘That’s not how I wake up, thinking, “Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?” And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me.’

 

Krasinski is best known for his role as Jim Halpert in the popular TV series The Office, which ran from 2005-2013.

 

He also famously starred in Michael Bay’s 13 Hours (2016) and Prime Video series Jack Ryan (2018-2023).

 

Recently he’s been making a name for himself as a director with the horror films A Quiet Place (2018) and A Quiet Place Part II (2020) as well as IF (2024).

 

 

After Krasinski was announced as this year’s winner, fans had a divided reaction on social media.

Another commentator shared a photo of John’s wife Emily crying in a still from the film The Devil Wears Prada, and wrote, ‘only his wife thinks that.’

 

‘This is worse than benny blanco to me, like giving it to a slice of bread,’ someone else wrote.

 

 

‘We really are in the worst timeline possible.’

 

However, others had more positive reactions. ‘Oh come be nice, I think he’s 𝓈ℯ𝓍y.. maybe not 𝓈ℯ𝓍iest.. but he is smart and funny.’

 

‘Well I’m not mad about it to be honest,’ someone else added.

 

‘Been rooting for him since the office.’

 

The comments continued, with one Twitter user adding: ‘I can totally get on board with this pick.’

There was no winner named in 1994 and then-couple Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford was named the Sexiest Couple Alive in 1993.

 

The first decade of the annual honor, the 1980s, saw the Sexiest Man Alive named as the late Sean Connery in 1989, the late John F. Kennedy, Jr. in 1988, Harry Hamlin in 1987, and Mark Harmon in 1986.

 

People magazine named its first Sexiest Man Alive in February 1985 when it picked then 29-year-old Mel Gibson for the honor.

 

Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Richard Gere have all been crowned Sexiest Man Alive twice.
