Angel Reese proudly shared on Mother’s Day how she included her mom in her journey to fame and wealth. When the rookie was uncertain about joining the WNBA, she took steps to ensure her and her mother’s financial security.

During her time at LSU, the Bayou Barbie recognized the potential of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) brand deals to sustain her finances, leveraging her social media presence for promotional content. Her namesake, former college basketball star Angel Webb Reese, got in on Angel’s seven-figure NIL value in college.

In her recent Instagram Story, Reese not only emphasized how proud she is to work with one of her inspirations on an exceptional cause, but also the importance of building a financial legacy highlighting America’s persistent racial wealth gap, a cause she has been dedicated to beyond her college years.

In collaboration with Goldman Sachs, Angel Reese, alongside her mother, a former college basketball player, promotes the One Million Black Women campaign. This initiative aims to amplify the voices of Black women to policymakers in D.C., urging them to engage in discussions aimed at narrowing the racial wealth gap.

According to a 2021 report by One Million Black Women, policies addressing the earnings gap for Black women could boost the U.S. annual GDP growth by $300 to $450 billion.

Angel Reese and Angel Webb Reese’s work is focused on understanding the economic realities faced by Black women in America and addressing them effectively.

As she continues her journey, Reese serves as an inspiration, reminding of the importance of using our voices and resources to enact positive change.
